PCA skin® is also a trusted leader in clinical skin health education. They are committed to keeping physicians and licensed skin care professionals updated on new technology and science. In addition to the scientific formulation of trusted, highly effective products, education remains an integral part of their company mission. Science-based physician- and clinician-focused education ensures that PCA skin® chemical peels are performed in the safest, most effective manner and that patients achieve dramatic and visible results from the company’s professional treatments and daily care products. Knowledgeable and experienced PCA skin® educators teach advanced seminars on skin biology, disease pathways, chemical peeling, medical devices, and product and ingredient knowledge nationwide throughout the year.

The PCA skin® team is comprised of exceptional people who have intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm for serving others and embrace the highest standard of ethics and values. These qualities extend through their internal Practice Development Group, their team of advanced global educators, as well as their management and executive teams. It has been PCA skin®’s goal to form a group of the most talented professionals in the skin health industry. Today, the PCA team includes physicians, chemists, aestheticians, nurses, M.B.A. and public speakers, all of whom ensure the level of service and education provided
remains unsurpassed.

Here is what PCA skin®’s president and CSO, Richard and Dr. Jennifer Linder had to say during a recent interview.

Q: What is the strength behind PCA skin®?

A: It is a combination of our highly skilled, intellectually curious team members and our network of physician and clinician PCA skin® certified professionals all supported and driven by our best-in-class products and education. We truly view our customers as an extension of our internal team, and work tirelessly to help them increase their knowledge and build their practices.

Q: What sets you apart from other manufacturers?

A: The long-term personal relationships we forge with our customers. We value the small, one-room aesthetician as much as a large medical practice. Our rigorous research and product development also allows us to continually improve ourselves, our business practices and, most importantly, our products. We are always looking to incorporate new science and advanced technology into our products so our PCA skin® certified professionals will have cutting-edge tools at hand to deliver the best in skin health to their patients.

Q: Are there any new products in development?

A: Although we already have 14 highly effective professional treatments, we are working on additional targeted in-office procedures. We conduct ongoing research to ensure both the PCA skin® daily care and professional treatment lines are offering the most innovative and results-oriented ingredients, delivery systems and technology available. We are constantly investigating emerging categories that can facilitate the quest for overall skin health.

Q: What do you think about the future of PCA skin®?

A: The future of PCA skin® is bright, indeed. Even during the recent recession, our educational offerings and deep support of our customers and their businesses kept the majority in good financial straights. During that time we also invested heavily in hiring, building a high-tech world headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz., and expanded into several new global markets. We are a growing and healthy company with a presence in 78 countries.

Q: How many reps do you have and what territories do they represent?

A: We currently serve over 5,000 medical and aesthetic practices throughout the U.S. Our business model is different from many in this industry. Our core team is located in Scottsdale at our world headquarters, where they service our customers via phone, e-mail and web. Our level of customer service is truly unique in that when you contact our team, you speak to a licensed professional with actual hands-on experience, not a typical sales person. In addition, we make personal connections with new and existing customers at the numerous aesthetic and medical trade shows we attend each year. Most importantly, our 19 highly trained advanced educators teach over 350 seminars each year, allowing them to offer individual attention to the attendees while providing exceptional skin health education.

Q: What education and customer service support do you offer clients, both initially and long-term?

A: Regardless of whether a customer has been with PCA for the more than two decades we have been in business or if they are brand new to us, we have people and processes that guide them and provide them with the individualized attention they deserve. We provide beautiful and informational patient education materials to help people familiarize themselves and their patients with who PCA is as a company and the wide variety of best-in-class products and treatments we offer. We also ensure that these treatments and products are performed and dispensed in the safest and most effective manner by requiring that physicians and clinicians attend our one-day chemical peel seminar, and take and pass our online exam to receive their certified professional status. We believe that ongoing education is essential to long-term success in skin health, and make it our priority to provide multiple seminars on a variety of topics to increase your knowledge and help build your business.

Our educational seminars and materials provide the most up-to-date scientific information on skin physiology, skin conditions, treatment devices, chemical peels and ingredient knowledge. Our offerings include:

  • Ingredient & Product Knowledge Seminar
  • Skin Biology & Chemical Peel Seminar
  • Peel Fundamentals: A Hands-On Course
  • Advanced Peeling Techniques for Complex Skin Conditions: A Hands-On Course
  • Advanced Treatment Technologies Seminar

We are always working to exceed our customers’ expectations with unparalleled service and support. Our Practice Development Group works to build personal relationships with each of our customers. We also have a team available to answer even the most difficult of technical questions to serve our customers and assist them with the treatment of their patients.

Q: Does PCA skin® support any particular causes or charitable organizations?

A: Of course, as a fellowship-trained Mohs skin cancer surgeon, I am passionate about the fight against skin cancer. Each year my practice and I perform hundreds of free screenings, since early detection is critical. We also support organizations that fight breast cancer and violence against women, and those that champion animal rights.

We truly believe that knowledge is power, and support not only our own continuing education, but also that of our management team. Each year all team members are involved in numerous educational offerings pertaining to both personal and professional growth.

Because all of us at PCA skin® value giving back to our community, each year the company provides every employee with a paid day to volunteer. Over the years, team members have visited animal rescue groups, Ronald McDonald House® and many more important organizations.

Q: PCA skin® received two prestigious awards in 2010; “Best Places to Work” in the Valley by the Phoenix Business Journal and “Most Admired Companies” by Arizona Business Magazine and BestCompaniesAZ. Congratulations, you must be very proud. In a culture where many companies are more concerned with the bottom line than the individual employees, what do you do differently and why?

A: All of our internal team as well as our extended team of advanced educators and PCA skin® certified professionals are constantly reminded of the integral part they play in our business. We truly care about each member of our team and want nothing more than to see them succeed. People are increasingly savvy and know when a company is being insincere. With each business decision made, how it will impact each level of our team is always considered. We are all passionate about skin health and improving people’s lives. Ultimately, we are united in our belief that what we have to offer as a company – products that work, education that keeps us ahead of the competition and tools to build healthy practices – will keep us and our customers successful and happy in our endeavors.
