Dear Reader September 2011

Welcome back, routine! September is such a busy month. The kids are finally back in school; sports and extracurricular activities are filling our calendars again, client appointments are filling your books and the fall tradeshow season for the International Congress of Esthetics and Spa kicks off in Long Beach, California; September 11 and 12 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

I, for one, am undoubtedly looking forward to a few days in cool California! After falling one day short of setting the all time record for most consecutive days with triple-digit temperatures, a reprieve from the heat will be amazing. Although as usual, I suspect the tradeshow will be sizzling in its own right.

Before you board your plane, train, or automobile to set out toward either Long Beach or Philadelphia in October, I encourage you to begin your research ahead of time, so that you are prepared and know exactly which vendors you want to meet with onsite. The best way to get ahead of the game is by visiting AestheticsProfessional.com. You can learn about and compare the companies you are interested in and prepare your questions for each before you even arrive.

If you have not already created your profile on Aesthetics Professional, there is no time like the present. As described above you can enhance your tradeshow experience pre- and post-conference first through research and then through continuing the connections you make during the event. AP is gaining momentum every day as it continues to grow, both domestically and globally. Aesthetics Professional Canada launched late last month and we hope to make several more similar announcements in the coming months.

Lastly, I would be remiss to conclude my note without paying tribute in some small way to the heroes, survivors and victims of 9/11. It is hard to believe that 10 years have passed, and yet on the other hand it seems a lifetime ago. I, like most Americans, will never forget the moment I heard of the attacks or the first person I called; where I was and what I was doing or the uncertainty and the patriotism that filled the days that followed. Life has certainly changed since that moment; for better or worse I will leave it to others to debate. But one thing remains – Our love, thoughts, support, hearts and prayers go out to each of you on this day of remembrance.

All my best,

Saundra, Dermascope Magazine, Skin Care Magazine
