After a long and scorching hot summer, the first day of September brings hope that fall will soon be here. This month also marks the start of school and a revitalized commitment to routine – definitely a welcome change to the lackadaisical days of summer. That is not to say that I do not like summer, but it is hard for me to stay focused on the tasks at hand during June, July, and August. Frankly, I think I was meant to live in Europe so I could have the entire month of August rest and renew my energy. But alas, I am here in the lovely U.S.; so, I am thrilled it is September!
Besides relief from triple digit temperatures (I hope) and a return to school, September means that thousands of aestheticians and skin care professionals will soon descend on California at the International Congress of Esthetics and Spa, Long Beach. I hope that everyone reading this will be joining us, for what promises to be another weekend filled with dynamic education and networking opportunities. As a member of AIA, please remember that you can purchase your tickets at a discount only by calling the AIA office. If you have not yet done so, call 877-968-7539 today.
This is also the issue that we turn our attention to Breast Cancer Awareness and feature some of the many companies and products that are gearing up to make charitable donations to numerous breast cancer research organizations in the month of October. So, please review pages 22-27 carefully in preparation for your product purchases next month. If you need to restock your inventory on any of them, you may as well do so when you can also support a worthy cause. You will also find a plethora of information regarding breast cancer, nutritional studies, and the effects of bras in the Scope This section on beginning on page 32.
In light of this very busy month, I promise not to keep you long. However, I absolutely cannot sign off without reminding you to find sometime this month (preferably sooner than later) to visit and join The Professional Network. These tools and the capabilities they offer are going to astound you. Every single professional in the skin care industry should absolutely be a member of AestheticsProfessional.com. If you own a spa or skin care facility or even work in one, check out MySpaNetwork.com and make sure your listing is activated and that consumers can find you and learn all about your facility through your profile pages. Lastly, the ProfessionalSkinCareGuide.com has been designed to assist you with all of product and educational needs. I look forward to meeting and greeting each of you online!
Until Next Month,
Saundra
