New Faces and Spaces

Stacey ReiseckSpilo Worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Steve Levin as Vice President of Global Sales. In this role, Levin will oversee all sales responsibilities for every geographic market, along with customer service, telesales, and sales support, uniting these efforts under one leadership position. His broad-based experience working with accounts on a global basis makes him ideal to guide Spilo’s sales efforts. Levin brings a depth of sales and marketing experience to Spilo Worldwide, having worked at companies such as International Playtex, Avery Dennison, and Esselte Pendaflex. He has a talent for building strong customer relationships, reinforcing Spilo’s customer service philosophy.


SeaCliff Beauty Packaging & Laboratories
is opening its first New York office. Located in Union Square, the office will serve as a showroom for East Coast-based clients to view SeaCliff Beauty’s array of packaging options, and it will service the company’s existing New York clients. The New York office will feature SeaCliff Beauty’s signature level of service and turnkey approach.

Isabel CallerosJane Wurwand, founder and owner of Dermalogica, was joined by Gossip Girl cast member Kelly Rutherford and Step Up Women’s Network to celebrate and recognize the empowerment of women at the grand opening of The Dermalogica Academy located in the heart of Chelsea, West Manhattan. The Academy is the brand’s first undergraduate facility and the first learning institution of its kind within the professional skin care industry, offering skin therapists a comprehensive pre-licensing education, including training in every aspect of business, marketing, and retailing with an emphasis on mentoring and networking. Several more Academy locations are planned to open within the next five years.

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), has announced the opening of the first clinic in the San Diego region dedicated to mapping and monitoring pre-cancerous moles. The mission of UCSD’s Pigmented Lesion and Skin Cancer Clinic, under the direction Richard L. Gallo, M.D., Ph.D., is to provide a high level of specialized care for patients with melanoma or those with the potential for developing melanoma. SkinMedica has provided a $100,000 philanthropic donation to help launch the clinic and is committing a $1 donation from the sale of every SkinMedica sunscreen product sold globally to fund skin cancer research and detection.

He is well respected amongst his distributor accounts as a proactive sales manager who strives to bring value and a keen business sense to the table.

The night kicked off with close friends sharing memories of Lydia’s beginnings while a slideshow of photos from the company through the years played in the background, followed by the highly anticipated announcement of the annual Repêchage Spa de Beauté of the Year award winners. During the event, Lydia thanked everyone for believing in her and extended a special thank you to David Sarfati, her husband for supporting her dreams all along.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge issued a written opinion rejecting Obagi Medical Products Inc.’s (“OMP”) (NASDAQ:OMPI) motion to dismiss claims by ZO Skin Health, Inc (“ZO”) that OMP engaged in anti-competitive practices. ZO, a company formed to give consumers access to world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi’s retail skin care products, filed a lawsuit in January challenging OMP’s anti-competitive practices. OMP unsuccessfully asked the Court to dismiss ZO’s claims.

As an ongoing initiative to help adolescent girls with facial disfigurements, CA BOTANA has donated products from their Doctor D. Schwab, Sea Enzyme, and Ambrosia Aromatherapy lines to the seventh annual Angel Faces Retreat in Encinitas, CA, to be used in facials during the week as well as gift bags for the girls to take home.

LightStim International has received FDA Clearance for their Anti-Aging LED light for wrinkles, the only LED light to pass the new stringent gauntlet of tests and trials required by the FDA. The clearance was given after months and months of ongoing clinical trails and usability studies performed by the company. The studies resulted in significant reduction of peri-orbital wrinkles, the toughest wrinkles to treat.
