Pacific Bioscience Laboratories Inc. (PBL), maker of the Clarisonic Skin Care System, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Gallagher to the position of President. Prior to that, Gallagher was President of Drake Bakeries and was instrumental in the eventual sale to Interstate Bakeries. Gallagher also spent over 20 years with Johnson & Johnson in various sales, marketing, and general management positions, including President of Johnson & Johnson Canada. Spatality, LLC announced the hiring of director of spa operations Bridget Phillips who brings with her extensive hotel and spa experience. In her role at Spatality, Phillips will oversee the operations of multiple international spas and play an integral part in the development of new Nectar spa branches.

Los Angeles’ historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre recently was the venue for Dermalogica’s “(re) Define the Future”, a day-long Symposium intended as a rallying cry for professional skin therapists. The primary message: shifting the emphasis within the business model from service alone to service-prescribed retailing. More than 600 skin therapists, students, salon and spa-owners, and media crowded the Ebell Theater to hear presentations by Jane Wurwand, founder of Dermalogica and The International Dermal Institute, as well as Vice-President of Technical Development Diana Howard, Ph.D., and Global Director of Training and Development Annet King.
