Murad announced the appointment of Lori Jacobus as the company’s new Vice President of Global Marketing. Jacobus will take a pivotal lead in driving brand growth and equity through strategic global marketing initiatives, identifying new market opportunities, driving product development, increasing brand profitability, and developing an overall growth strategy. Murad is also expanding its International presence with the appointment of Danny Guez. Murad is implementing new strategies and adding more resources as demand for its products continues to increase Internationally. The International team will now consist of three regions with the appointment of Guez as the new Director of International Sales for Europe and the Middle East.

 

National Laser Institute (NLI), the largest medical aesthetic and laser training school in the country, announces its first Nevada location with classes beginning later this month in Las Vegas. The medical aesthetic industry is now an eight billion dollar industry with over 30 million procedures performed last year.

Paul Johnson, President and CEO, announces the appointment of Jay Morris as Executive Vice President of Global Sales. Reporting to Morris will be Teresa Smith, Vice President of Sales, and Emmanuelle Mather, Sales and Marketing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to joining Alterna, Morris was the Vice President of Sales for Creative Nail Design and American Crew.

CND welcomes Heike Ahlers to its International division as Regional Sales Manager for Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Ahlers joins CND with over 12 years of experience in the beauty and fashion industries and knowledge of international sales, marketing, distribution, merchandising, and retail. Ahlers will support Mischeila Golla, European Director of International Sales and Marketing, in developing strategic growth plans for Eastern Europe.

SpaFinder, Inc., the world’s largest spa marketing and media company, has named Bob Feghali to the newly created position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Feghali, the former CIO of American National Standards Institute (ANSI), will oversee and develop SpaFinder’s information technology operations with a primary focus on its e-commerce business.

With the proliferation of medical spas, the fusion of medical and cosmetic-treatment centers under one roof is fulfilled with Visio Lasik Medspas, once a Lasik center that has recently expanded its services to encompass non-invasive medical treatments. The 3,100 square-foot facility in Wellington has a full-time medical director on hand.

The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers & Distributors (ICMAD) celebrated its 19th annual international reception in Bologna at the Royal Hotel Carlton. Paris Hilton was among those in attendance, as were record numbers of ICMAD members, exhibitors, and friends. Hilton was in Bologna to publicize her hair extension line, DreamCatchers, distributed by ICMAD member, Hair Tech Inc.
