NEW FACES / LAUNCHES:

Dr. Patrick Furlong has joined YG Laboratories as the company’s new President and Chief Operating Officer. He is reporting directly to company owners, Rebecca James Gadberry and Robert James. Furlong brings decades of product development, marketing, and organizational skills to bear in his new role as the operating head of the rapidly growing YG Laboratories… Carolyn Espersen joins drom fragrances Evaluation Team in their Tribecca Location. Espersen most recently joins drom from IFF to take over the high end Bath and Body Fragrance Brands. She will report directly to Kimberly Berg, Head of Evaluation in the U.S… Eve Taylor has recently added a completely new education and training center to its manufacturing and administration headquarters in Peterborough. The first group of students to visit the education center was a group from the Takara Belmont International Beauty School based in Japan. All of the students are studying for their CIDESCO Diploma and all will be trained in the Eve Taylor Aromatherapy techniques before they graduate… InSpa, the nation’s fastest-growing chain of mass-market day spas, announced the opening of its second Northern California store in San Jose, Calif. Occupying 2,400 square feet of space, the Almaden Plaza store makes InSpa’s signature brand of affordable, well-loved spa standards, including massage, facials, waxing, manicures, and pedicures, even more accessible to San Jose visitors and residents. InSpa is designed to give everyone access to spa services that make them feel welcomed, respected, renewed, and uplifted… drom is expanding their marketing efforts to better service clients needs with two new hires. Valerie Lombardo has joined drom to fill the new Market Research role in drom’s Towaco, N.J. Office. Michael Nina comes to drom as their Concept Manager, working in the N.Y. Tribecca Studio. Both Lombardo and Nina will report to Martha Basanta who is the Head of the U.S. Marketing Team… Mr. Andrew O’Shea has been recently promoted to Vice President Sales, Personal Care for drom fragrances U.S. O’Shea has been with drom for over five years as an Account Executive were he has successfully taken personal care to a whole new level for drom. An overwhelmingly favorable consumer response to two skin care products containing BioHexol, a proprietary blend of four homeopathic ingredients, has prompted California Cosmetics Corp. to add the blend to more of its products. They have been using homeopathic ingredients for 15 years, but wanted to capture the best of the best in a synergistic combination… Dermalogica volunteers spread holiday cheer at the annual party for Bienvenidos Childrens Center in Altadena, Calif. This program provides essential resources and respite programs for families in crisis. Each year, The Dermalogica Foundation donates to grassroots charitable organizations which work for the safety and protection of women and children, including Mar Vista Family Center, SOVA Food Pantries, Stuart House, Childbirth Connection Foundation, United in Harmony (Camp Harmony), and Step-Up Womens Network… The clinical skin care line, DermaQuest, Inc., unveiled its new image at the beginning of 2007 to include new silver and white packaging, a user-friendly website, and several marketing pieces. Also, DermaQuest, Inc. created five color-coded categories to simplify their comprehensive line of products to include Masters, Age Management, Acne Management, Therapeutic Care, and Professional Care… Kenneth Beer, MD and Mary Lupo, MD announce that Johnson and Johnson have signed a Platinum Level support agreement to participate in The Cosmetic Boot Camp summer meeting. The meeting, which will be held on June 8-11 in Aspen, Colo., is the world’s leading cosmetic symposium for specialty trained physicians. Beer says that he is looking forward to working with Johnson and Johnson on this and other initiatives including educational events for physicians in training… Showing a commitment to their community, employees of American International Industries helped spread seasonal cheer in the City of Commerce. Working with Concept 7 Family Support and Treatment Centers in Commerce, employees “adopted” 30 foster children and made their holiday wishes come true. These children come from situations of abuse and neglect, and might otherwise have little or no holiday celebration. Concept 7’s mission is to ease the suffering of these children and provide nurturing environments which will allow them to begin the process of healing. This includes early intervention with at-risk families as well as foster care and adoption for children in need.
