Dear Member – April 2010

Tina Zillman Aesthetic International Association's President

Spring has again brought us longer days and good positive energy to put towards business development and the growth of our practice. Let us start preparing summer promotions that can motivate our personal development and our clientele. This month I encourage you all to take advantage of the International Congress of Esthetics and Spa (I.C.E.S.) trade show, AIA and your professional agenda for the rest of the year.
Show season is here again and AIA is at the forefront of education at the I.C.E.Ss Miami Beach event. Aestheticians from all over have a chance to share their knowledge and expertise in a purely professional atmosphere. The Miami training seminar will have Michael Lawson of Avalon Media Group educating you on how “Relationships Create Revenue,” Nina Curtis of Curtis Communications and The Nile Institute teaching you ways of “Defending the Skin,” and yours truly educating you on “The Most Crucial Part of Your Treatment: Skin Typing & Consultation.” This combination gives you insight to aesthetic care, communication, and marketing to help enhance your service to you clientele. Do not forget that these classes are free with your I.C.E.S. Miami ticket purchase.
If Miami is not the right show for you, I.C.E.S. Dallas is a centrally located event that can offer many professionals benefits. Not only do you get multiple manufacturers working to gain your business and educate you on treatment modalities, AIA has yet another training seminar. On Saturday, MAy 15 we will be offering Sanitation with Rules and Regulations. Call the AIA office for more information. In addition to this training AIA will also have classes throughout the event with special guest speakers for free with you I.C.E.S. Dallas show ticket purchase. Yet another great line-up of educators to talk to you about variety of topics to open your eyes to a new and creative ideas.
My heart lies in educating professionals like you! I.C.E.S. is one great way to stimulate your thinking. Now, I ask you, “What are your professional goals and ideas for this spring and summer?” “What is your speciality in aesthetics – where do you shine?” Make yourself a list then come up with creative ways to promote your practice and business to new and existing clientele. New clientele need to be educated. Do not just give them a treatment; their first impression of you will determine whether or not they will return. Educate them on their skin then tell them about why your facility is the best one to come to. Do you offer a frequent facial programs? Give your repeat clientele a reward with their purchase of so many facials. Perhaps their reward can be a free facial after they atten six consecutive facials? Maybe they deserve a discount on their favorite product after they reach a certain dollar amount. Give them a long-term and short-term rewards to show them that you value their business and want them to continue achieving their skin care needs with you.
At AIA we are committed to your professional development. Credible education, discount classes, and show tickets, and the future plans which involve webinars, social networking, newsletters and website hosting. How many professionals organizations can offer you that in the years to come?

Get brainstorming and share your thoughts with me – tina@aiaprofessional.com
