Meet A Reader - DianaWhen I am not seeing clients… I am learning how to tutor autistic children, hiking with my dog, or driving to a California Beach.

Dreaming of… opening my own spa that would cater to cancer patients, helping them with their skin care regimens, understanding that they are limited to certain services, but having the knowledge to help them in other ways to care for their skin and body.

If I was not an aesthetician… I would be a veterinarian. I love animals and like practicing Reiki on my dog. I used to do Reiki on my Rottwieler before he passed away due to bone cancer. I felt that it helped him with the pain.

Best skin care tip… drink plenty of water to stay hydrated especially in hot climates like Las Vegas. Wear sunscreen. Apply a little of grape seed oil before bed. You wake up looking luminous and have the glow through out the day.

My home… my home is Chicago, whenever I travel back home I feel this heart warming feeling inside as the plane approaches the ground, which is a sign that my heart is still in Chicago and it is home for me. I love my hometown; it is such a beautiful city.

Favorite summer trend… summer trend, waking up early to a clear blue sky and a crisp summer breeze, going for an early hike or walk with my Weimaraner. We both enjoy summer mornings I love them!

Obsession… visiting other spas all over the world

The best thing about turning 30… turning 30 for me was a great feeling of accomplishment, plus I still looked like I was in my 20s and still do at 37.

Guilty pleasure… red velvet cake with a glass of Pinot Griggio. Yum!

Most memorable celebrity encounter/experience… Michael Jordan!
Former basketball player of the Chicago Bulls August 2006 in Las Vegas –
I love my Bulls.

My aesthetics mentor is… a former employee and a dear friend of mine. She was so dedicated to her clients and work, you could see the love for skin by the way she spoke to her clients and advised them on caring for their skin. Even while going through cancer treatments and hip surgery, she still came to work, WOW! As her manager I admired her strength and passion she had as an aesthetician and she inspired me to pursue my aesthetic license.

Words of wisdom… always love what you do.

My favorite book is… “Wuthering Heights,” by Emily Bronte
