Salma Hirani
age 40 | medical spa owner, aesthetician, hair stylist, and makeup artist | married with two children | Sugar Land, Texas
What are you most proud of? I am extremely proud to be one of the few medical aestheticians in Texas and having a mentor like Dr. Fathi G. Fam from Dallas Center for Advanced Medical Aesthetics. One more achievement which I am very proud of is being educated for hair care from Vidal Sassoon Academy in London.
What’s your favorite place in the world? London, England
If you weren’t a medical aesthetician, what would you want to do with your life? Become a Fashion Designer as I love to do innovative and challenging things.
What’s the one thing you want in your spa, but you don’t have? Ayurvedic treatments, with a Holistic approach, surrounded by a natural view.
When you wake up each morning, what makes you want to work? I wake up each morning wanting to strive and work hard to be the finest medical aesthetician and provide exceptional service and results to my clients.
How many hours have you dedicated to continuing education since you’ve graduated? There are too many hours to count as I have consistently attended hair, skin, and makeup classes with the industry giants. Since the very beginning, I always strived and worked hard to achieve full knowledge of all three sectors in this field.
How many hours do you work a week? On average, 55 hours on clients and around 10 to 12 hours of research to learn new techniques and to further educate myself.
What’s your biggest distraction at work? To accommodate walk-in clients in between appointments.
What’s your favorite treatment to give? All the treatments in which I transfer my positive energy to balance the client’s energy level through chakra therapy in a holistic way. These treatments include Natural Face Lift, Champissage (Indian Head Massage), and Facial Massage.
If you could only have one product in your bathroom, what would it be? There are many to choose from but my favorite has to be Biomani’s Derma Clean, a neutral facial cleanser, which conditions, moisturizes, and deep cleanses the skin.
What’s the one thing you didn’t learn in school that you wish you did? One thing which I didn’t learn in school was how to market myself.
If you suddenly found $1,000 spare cash, how would you spend it? Take more advanced hands-on classes in skin care to serve the client in a better way.
What’s your favorite treatment to receive? Microdermabrassion with a facial massage which includes décolleté, neck, and back massage.
