Organizer Adviser: Taking Control of the Treatment Room

Nobody likes a cluttered and unorganized workstation, especially clients. Although everything inside of a spa may be clean, the clutter and lack of organization alludes to an unkept and unsanitary treatment room. Not only does having an unorganized spa or treatment room make clients feel uncomfortable, but it also reflects poorly on the skin care professional. This is not appealing to clients, especially when they are trying to destress and relax. There is nothing soothing about a tower of dirty bowls in the sink. The client’s experience is everything. It can truly make or break a skin professional’s business.

WHY IS HAVING A CLEAN WORKSTATION SO IMPORTANT?

The truth is clients are more willing to rebook and spend more money when they are in a clean and tidy spa. Practitioners know that skin care is not cheap; therefore, their surroundings must be sanitary and visually pleasing for them to justify the cost. Clients come to either destress, relax, or to receive a medical aesthetic treatment. In both situations, a clean, organized, and well-kept spa or medical spa is crucial for clients to feel safe and comfortable.

SPA ORGANIZATION TIPS

Details are everything. Details can take a spa to the next level. Clients will appreciate the time and effort put into making the space more welcoming and visually pleasing. This can include, evenly spaced out retail products, product labels turned to the front, and dusting all retail products and shelves daily.

Remember that everything has a home. This is something every skin care professional should wholeheartedly live by. Everything has a place. Each cabinet should have several baskets or containers to store various products and supplies. Organize baskets and containers by each skin care line carried and specific treatment protocols. For example, label the basket as chemical peels to distinguish from other products. This method makes it so much easier to locate supplies and it truly saves time.

Look through the client’s eyes because sometimes the things that practitioners think are important are not as important to the clients. A good tip is to think as a client walking into a spa for the first time. By doing this, a practitioner will find and see things that they have never even noticed.

Checklists should be a skin care professional’s best friend. When it comes to staying organized, create a to-do list every day to stay on track and not forget important tasks. Use the notes app on an iPhone or laptop to create a daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.

Making clients feel as comfortable as possible is of the utmost importance to an established skin care professional. This begins as soon as the client walks through the spa door. Keep the environment organized and clean by using these tips to provide the client with excellent service and an exceptional experience.
