Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

This medicinal herb has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, astringent and moisturizing properties. In Greek mythology, the hero Achilles used yarrow to prevent his soldiers’ wounds from bleeding. It is a good source of tannins and flavonoids and can be found in hedges bordered by woodland trails, fields and meadows in Europe, North America and Western Asia. Yarrow is a member of the aster family and has traditionally been used to treat rosacea, improve blood circulation and reduce skin inflammation.
