ITS Academy of Beauty, in Irving captured first place with their entry, 101 Flavors, at the regional hair competition at Educational Forum in Fort Worth, Texas.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream was the cheer of the day as the three-person team from ITS Academy of Beauty, in Irving captured first place with their entry, 101 Flavors, at the regional hair competition at Educational Forum in Fort Worth, Texas. Cosmetology students Marcus Johnson, LaToya Massey, Verlecia Washington and model Precious Hicklen (also a student of ITS Academy of Beauty) had 55 minutes in the arena to construct the hair and makeup for their entry. Oodles of hair were not only colored and fashioned to create the model’s hair and cookie-inspired bonnet, but the model’s dress as well. “These students are extremely talented,” said Andrea Bryant who was recently named director of the Irving cosmetology school. “Their unique approach, cooperative spirit, as well as hours of practice before the event really paid off.” Each entry was judged based on creativity, originality, innovation, color and theme.
